Terrific Tailgate

Around here LSU football rules, so I decided to highlight some simple favorite football recipes.  Every weekend is an opportunity to entertain and party as folks gather to celebrate around food, fun, and football. And whether you are tailgating at the game or in front of the television in the comfort of your own home – to me that only means one thing – party food!

My husband is already talking about having folks over to watch the out-of-town games.  The guys will be gathered around the television set – and women too!  With the busy fall, who has time to cook?  Here’s your winning combination of tips and make-ahead crowd pleasing effortless recipes to guarantee the cook is the winner. From hearty meat eaters to vegetarians, this menu will be a sure bet.  And, be sure to save room for dessert!

Terrific Tailgating Tips:

  1. For an easy, inexpensive and portable centerpiece, in a basket include a football, pot of team colored mums and pom poms.
  2. Supplies will be limited, so be prepared to bring everything you need. Include basics like water, storage containers and trash bags.
  3. Bring disposable plates, napkins and utensils in the team’s colors.
  4. Have a plan to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold.
  5. Start planning your menu a few days before kick off. Get organized, and make a checklist so you don’t get sacked by family and friends.

Crowd Pleasing Recipes:
