Directions Cooking Instructions: To Boil: 1. Bring plenty of water to a boil. 2. Add the content of the bag and simmer for 10-15 minutes. 3. Drain, season to taste or toss with your favorite sauce and serve. To Simmer: 1. In a medium saucepan, combine the grains and water or broth. 2. Bring to a boil over high heat. 3. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 10 minutes. 4. Remove from heat and let stand covered in 5 minutes. If you prefer less al dente grains, cook 2-3 minutes longer. 5. Drain any excess liquid; fluff with a for and season to taste. Barley: 1/2 cup; 1 cup; 1-1/2 cups. Water/Broth: 3/4 cup; 1-1/2 cups; 2-1/4 cups. To Make Soup: 1. Bring 8 cups broth to a boil. 2. Add the bag of barley along with fresh vegetables of your choice. 3. Simmer for 12-15 minutes or until all ingredients are cooked. 4. Season to taste.
